5 purposeful logo variations for your brand

The success of an impactful brand relies on the use of a number of logo variations and brand marks. Here ate the 5 most common that you might need:

01) Primary Logo

This is your logo in it’s most “complex” form - This is the logo that would include tag lines, location, all elements of your branding in one.

Best used for website headers, main marketing materials like business cards and large printed collateral.

02) Secondary Logo

This is a “simpler” version of your logo. Most often seen in a slightly different format and with minor alterations.

Best used for smaller collateral, mobile headers on your website and email footers.

03) Brand Submarks

This mark is a simplified version of your logo that still includes your business name or letters. This is a small shape that makes it ideal for places where a full written logo wouldn’t work well.

Best used for small print pieces (stickers etc), stamps, social media icons and more.

04) Icons

Icons are similar to a submark in that they are a smaller part of your branding, but are a small design that can stand in when your logo may not apply.

Best used for overlays in designs, social media profiles, packaging or favicon on your website.

05) Miscellaneous

This depends on the nature of your business. Some brands may required logos outside the ones above, or other colour ways and require additional sub marks and tagline designs. This could also be another simplified version of your logo.
